The platforms of the status quo parties are designed to win votes but not to solve problems for the long term . Their economic policy depends on the economy continuing to grow and that is not realistic. As the dollar rises and more manufacturing jobs are lost the status quo parties will be forced to reneg on their promises, cut social programs or go into more debt. Similarly get tough on crime policy sounds good but when you look at the facts it does not prevent crime. If it did we would feel safer in the U.S. then in Canada.
Green Party policy balances the economy, social programs and the environment with strong focus on long term solutions that are sustainable economically.
Canada needs to hear more from the Green Party. The Green Party was again shut out of the televised debates,, even though we had over half a million votes last election and even though we have a candidate in every riding. Votes for the Green Party will tell the 5 private media companies that you want to hear from another voice in the next election. Truly stand up for Canada and democracy and vote green on January 23rd.
